CH4, CO2, GHG Monitoring Systems

GHG, CO2 and CH4 Monitoring Systems are designed for environmental applications.
It solves engineering problem related to energy production and efficiency, production that measures methane and metabolic carbon dioxide emissions for municipal, agricultural and commercial applications.
Paramagnetic Oxygen Gas Sensor
The paramagentic O2 sensor provides a fast response, high long-term stability and a rigid platform for gas measurement over long time periods. The O2 sensor has been extensively tested and provides excellent stability and long-term reliability

Features:
  • Emissions from open or closed-circuit respiration chambers
  • Breath analysis, with a fast response and instant feedback, the sensors are optimal to measure fast changes in breath concentrations
  • Emissions in exiting gas from barns or stables
  • Uses the paramagnetic measurement principle so the sensor is more stable and maintains calibration over long time periods.  
  • The sensor does not drift or need replacement over long time periods
  • Linearized and analog output signal
  • Optional temperature, pressure, and humidity measurement with fully compensated output signal
  • Simple to integrate with other systems
  • Sensitive that can detect changes in O<sub>2</sub> gas down to 150 ppm in 20% atmospheric air

GreenFeed – Large Animals
The large animal GreenFeed is a turnkey system designed to measure gas fluxes of methane (CH4), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and optionally, Oxygen (O2), Hydrogen (H2) and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) from individual animals. It aggregates emissions data from individual animals and determine herd averages. The system is configured to offer a small amount of pelletized bait attractant to entice the animals to visit multiple times per day. The gas emissions data is logged then automatically processed allowing the user to easily access a summarized report of calculated fluxes.
 
This unit requires a pelletized feed (< 7 mm in diameter) to be used. Any type of pelletized feed can be used, with some applications using pelletized grass and alfalfa, and others using a concentrate mix. Typically, the amount of bait attractant used is about 1-1.5 kg per animal per day, however in some installations as little as 200 grams per animal per day. In other applications animals are given as much as 8 kg per animal per day. The amount of feed used is uniquely configurable for each animal.
 
In normal operating conditions, about 20 animals per day can be measured per GreenFeed, however this varies depending on the animals, the size of the pen or pasture, the quantity of feed, and the objectives.

  • Used for any size and age of cattle except for unweaned calves. 
  • Used to measure metabolic gases from other large animal species such as CO2 flux with up to a level of greater than 1,000 g/d and CH4 flux greater than about 60 g/d.
  • Used in number of different applications including tie-stalls, free-stalls or on pasture.
  • Includes a feed hopper, RFID reader, gas measurement equipment, software and online interface

Gas Measurement Platform
The gas measurement platform is a system that allows for the continuous measurements of CH4, CO2, and optionally O2, H2, and H2S gas concentrations. It is flexible to log other sensor data and also to automatically control separate devices. The data is logged to the cloud, permanently archived and accessible from any location with an Internet connection. The Gas Measurement platform can also be used with the auto-calibration option and also be equipped with automated solenoids to allow periodic measurement of background levels of gases.
